Do you usually pay attention to the maintenance of stone? In fact, the stone floor is the same as our face. Of course, it is easy to age without paying attention to maintenance. If the stone is not maintained, there will be phenomena such as alkali reversion, yellowing, rust and macula, then why should the stone be maintained?
Why does stone disease
The stone itself has a natural outstanding physical characteristic-water absorption (generally, the water absorption rate of granite is 0.1-0.2%). In this way, due to unreasonable stacking, packaging, transportation, and contact with external sources of pollution, such as water vapor, rain, oil, etc., the stone is easily polluted. The pollution problems that users often encounter are: efflorescence, rust spots, yellow spitting, stains, oil spots, straw yellow and weathering, aging, fading, gloss wear and so on. In addition, the problems that construction workers often encounter during construction, such as non-drying of water spots-watermarks after stone wet pasting construction, are common problems in engineering and one of the main reasons for engineering disputes.
The inherent factors of the stone itself:
1. The natural micropores of stone: Simply put, the stone will breathe. If water is accidentally sucked in, it will easily cause multiple phenomena, such as water spots.
2. The relatively complex chemical composition of stone: the different chemical composition of each stone leads to chemical interaction with external substances. For example, the iron content of stone is directly related to rust and macula.
1.The media function of water: it is water again. I don’t know if my friends have noticed. Many stone diseases are caused by water, so we must ensure the dryness of the stone.
2.Infiltration of pollutants: pollution of aqueous liquid substances (such as tea, coffee, cola, soy sauce, soup, etc.); organic substances (such as wood, straw, cardboard boxes, cigarettes, etc.); oily or oil-soluble substances (such as motor oil, edible oil, oil, gasoline, solvent, tar, etc.); adhesive materials (such as paint, markers, ink, toner, crayons, dyes, inks, etc.); transfer of colored materials (such as colored strips, colored paper, decolorized clothing, etc.) ), these pollutions will pollute or even destroy the stone.
3.Chemical and biochemical reasons: Some pollutants will be accompanied by obvious chemical changes and chemical erosion. There are also organisms that secrete acidic substances and easily absorb certain minerals in the rock, causing biological erosion from the surface. Such as sawdust, ironware, welding sparks and other corrosion fluids; and environmental pollution, acid rain erosion, etc. will cause pollution and corrosion to stone.
4.Erosion and weathering of natural environmental conditions: the impact of dry and wet cycles on stone, day after day, year after year, changes in the air and surrounding environmental humidity, causing frequent swelling and drying shrinkage of the stone. The cold in winter causes ice to freeze inside or around the stone cracks, resulting in expansion and freezing and thawing. Salt-alkali, wind and sand, etc. will cause damage to the erosion of the stone.
5.Improper cleaning and care methods and poor management: This is also the destruction of stone caused by human factors, which is mainly reflected in the pollution of expansion agents, explosives, iron sawdust, engine oil, etc. used during the mining and processing of the stone; damage to the stone caused by improper methods during installation and use.
The necessity and timeliness of stone maintenance
Necessity: Whether it is a new stone or a refurbished stone, with the normal use and the passage of time, the abrasion of the stone will become more and more serious and its luster will become lower and lower. Stone maintenance is becoming more and more necessary.
Timeliness: Stone must be maintained in a timely manner to reach the level it should be. If the decline in gloss exceeds the maintenance and recovery capacity, it is difficult to achieve the recovery level. Simply put, if the stone is not maintained in time, the stone will easily become difficult to cure.
How to "raise" a good stone
1.Thorough maintenance and cleanliness: No matter the hard granite or soft marble, they are not resistant to the long-term ravages of wind sand and soil particles. Therefore, it is necessary to use a dust collector and an electrostatic mop to remove dust and clean thoroughly from time to time.
2.Regular maintenance and gloss maintenance are necessary: Dust removal and cleaning alone cannot keep the bright stone gloss continuously. Therefore, we must regularly ask a professional company to send someone to do maintenance and gloss regeneration maintenance work.
3.Pollution should be removed immediately: all natural stones have pores, and pollution sources (oil, tea, coffee, cola, soy sauce, ink, etc.) will easily penetrate into the stone along the pores and form annoying stains, so be sure to Choose high-quality stone-specific protective agents to prevent pollution sources from polluting the stone. It is necessary to know that all protective agents cannot prevent pollution 100% for a long time, so once a source of pollution is poured on the stone, it must be removed immediately to prevent it from penetrating into the pores of the stone.
4.Always keep ventilated and dry: The stone is afraid that the environmental humidity is too high. Moisture will produce hydration, hydrolysis and carbonation of stone, produce water spots, white blooms, weathering, rusty yellow and other diseases, and destroy the stone. Therefore, the stone installation place should always be ventilated and dry.
